Malek’s prolific compositions integrate Middle-Eastern modes into Western classical forms and harmony. They range from chamber music to large-scale orchestral works including concertos for violin and piano. Malek has performed with orchestras all over the world\, and is a recipient of numerous prestigious awards. He is also a vocal advocate for victims of human rights abuses at the hand of the Syrian army\, including his own parents.
