DESCRIPTION:Third annual Santa Cruz Arabic Music Week directed by Elias Lammam will take place July 23-31 at Desert Dream Studio in Santa Cruz\, CA. The weeklong event includes concerts on Saturday\, July 23 and July 31\, morning and afternoon classes in Arabic music\, singing\, percussion\, music theory (maqamat)\, performance and arrangement techniques\, performing to accompany singers and/or dancers\, and more\, plus evening classes in various types of dance using Arabic music\, including Egyptian style belly dance\, etc. Dance classes will be taught by Janelle Rodriguez and Andalee Owens.
