Arabs Heritage Celebration: Canada

A Concert Dedicated for Refugee Crisis!! Palestine in the Prairie Folkloric Group was created with a mission to develop events dedicated to the meeting of Arabic and Western cultures. We see art as a way to connect and hope to represent modern bodies of work through dabkeh dance, music, theater and multidisciplinary arts.

Given the recent events and news about refugees coming to the province, and in an effort to mobilize the passion and concern of Winnipeggers into action and help those affected and displaced by civil war, these volunteers and artists have banded together and decided to make this show in reply to violence, to point out suffering and to highlight celebration make music and dance devoted beautifully on stage than ever before to raise awareness to support the refugees escaping terror. We’re so grateful for cities like Winnipeg who use their gifts to help others in such a powerful way reaching the sole of humanity, if you come to this concert, you will feel the soul of those people suffering.  Come join us in this stunning event for a great cause.

Our concerts are not to be missed and are sure to please all ages. A showcase of talent that explains a story with Arabic traditions re-imagined. You will see rare performances that will include the 18th century classical pieces from the Ottoman court, Palestinian Wedding celebration, Lebanese Wedding celebration, 19th century Folks dabkeh and Egyptian country pieces.  Will dance Andalusian, Tunisian, Algerian and all the way to Classical Ballet, using various props including veil, swords, straw trays, clay jars, baskets, 19th century harvest tools and silk veils.
