Perspectives on Syria and the Middle East – San Diego, CA

August 1, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

$10

The calamitous Syrian Conflict continues unabated, and despite recent initiatives to broker a peaceful resolution among the combatants and their supporters, prospects remain pessimistic. The Syrian government and its military forces are on one side, with disparate rebel factions as well as ISIS fighting against them, each with its own agenda. Retired American Diplomat, George Novinger will offer his perspectives on those involved and thoughts on what the future might bring to this troubled country as well as the Middle East. He will explore some of the political, economic, social, and religious environment in Syria leading up to the start of the ongoing conflict in Syria.  He will discourse on the current critical issues in Syria and the Middle East to include; the major players involved, the Syrian refugee crisis, and deliberate on Syria’s possible future forecast scenarios. A Q&A session will follow.
