Arts Canteen & MTA Production present Tarabband

Nominated and awarded as 2014’s “Tradition bearer” and “Best crossover” at the “Swedish World Music Awards”

Tarabband presents Arabic music influenced largely by other music styles; Middle eastern and Nordic Folk & Traditional music, Jazz, Persian and Latin, resulting in the band’s own original sound and compositions.

Tarabband’s base is the Swedish city Malmö, where cultures from all over the world interacts and melt into each other, creating an interesting cultural spot in the heart of Europe.

Together they create a suggestive musical mixture of Arabic music in the first place
but rich in elements of Swedish folk, pop, flamenco, Gnawa and a lot more.

The word TARAB itself in Arabic stands for ‘Ecstasy through music’.

This event is produced with association with Liverpool Arab Arts Festival
