What went wrong with the Arab Revolutions
August 22, 2016 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm
Event Navigation
Why have most of the Arab revolutions not resulted in a smooth transition to peace, stability, and development, and instead descended into violence and civil wars as in Yemen, Libya, and Syria? This discussion will address the major issues that are shaping Middle East politics today, most importantly, the Iran-Saudi cold war, terrorism, counter-revolutions, external intervention, and the Israel-Palestine conflict. It will propose solutions to the current chaos that is engulfing the Middle East region and provide insights into how the region can transition to peace and stability.
