RAQS WITHOUT BORDERS: MENA Dance Festival

TORKOMADA, a not-for-profit organization that promotes cultural diplomacy, is hosting a Middle Eastern and North African Dance Festival in NYC from 9/1/16-9/5/16 with an award ceremony.

Purpose:  Cultural Diplomacy through Middle Eastern and North African Dance. Honoring the traditions of the indigenous dances and cultural expressions of the Middle East and North Africa to engage in cultural diplomacy towards peace building. This gala event will  feature master instructors, lecturers, performers, and distinguished pioneers from the Middle Eastern dance field.

Awards and Development: Recipient of NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, the NY State Council on the Arts, the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council  for the 2016 Creative Engagement Grant, and the CUNY Dance Initiative in 2015.
